Dear Soul (1998)

Recorded in Andorra & London, Language: English

Inspired by the life and teaching of Renu’s Guru, Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, 'Dear Soul' is an album of English spiritual and inspirational songs, produced by Ann and David Jevons of the Ramala Centre, Glastonbury.  Comprising of songs Renu used to sing in the Sanctuary at Ramala during 1997-1998, the album was recorded under the musical direction of the renowned Jazz musician Rene de Knight (pianist for The Delta Rhythm Boys, and who also played for Ella Fitzgerald) at his studio in Andorra and the final recording, mixing and mastering happened at recording studios in Hammersmith, London.

The moving title track was composed by Renu’s long-time musician-singer friend, John Ward. ‘Dear Soul’ is unusual as it is God singing to the Soul who has just departed, welcoming it back Home. Other original compositions by Renu are ‘Make Your Life A Rose’, ‘Answer My Prayer’ and ‘Let Love Enter My Sleeping Heart’.

Sai Prashanti (2000)

Recorded in Mumbai, Language: Hindi, Sanskrit, English:

'Sai Prashanti' is a popular collection of Sathya Sai Baba bhajans featuring two sets of chorus singers: Indian and Western, the latter especially sourced to sing for ‘Temple Bells Are Singing Ganesha’ and Sathya Sai Baba’s original composition, ‘Love Is My Form’.

See below for 'Dhimika Dhimika Dhim' - a traditional chant dedicated to Lord Shiva (the destroyer in the Hindu trinity). I love the positive power and energy transmitted by the rhythm (Keherva) and the raga (Malkauns) expressing cosmic vibrations.

Summer Showers (2002)

Recorded in London, Language: English

The first Sathya Sai Youth Camp was being organised in the United Kingdom in 2001. The title was 'Summer Showers', and the tagline was “Believe The Experience”. My song was chosen out of six national submissions. This is a special album for me as all 8 tracks are my original compositions. Listen to ‘Mother Earth’.

Chitta Chora (2004)

Recorded in Mumbai, Language: Hindi

Following on from the sell out success of Sai Prashanti, I recorded the Chitta Chora album.  While some of the tracks are Sathya Sai bhajans, including a version of the Mahamantra: 'Hare Krishna Hare Krishna' there are four original compositions by me: ‘Chitta Chora!’, Mujhe Banalo Apni Meethi Bansuri Krishna’, ‘Tu Hai Maakhan Chor’ and what has proved to be a major hit around the world, ‘Tu Hi Tu Krishna’.

Bhakti Junction Vol. 1 (2004)

Recorded in Prague, Czech Republic, Language: English, Sanskrit, Czech, Spanish, Native American

Through the invitation to sing and speak at the annual Sathya Sai Retreats in Prague, I had the good fortune to meet Petr Kroutil, a formidable musician with his own Swing band.  We played Sai Bhajans together at the Sai Retreat one year and hit it off! It was wonderful to have Petr fly to London to perform with me at several sell-out shows. We then picked the songs for ‘Bhakti Junction’ album, with Petr writing a couple of them: 'Flutterbies and Landydions’ and ‘Bhakti Blues.' There is also a bhajan to Lord Shiva in Spanish, 'Senor Shiva', a wonderful Native American Sioux chant called ‘Kuwate Leno Leno Mahote’, and an enchanting bhajan dedicated to Sri Sathya Sai Baba, 'Guru Deva Sharanam Deva.'
